Italian Wine, Husbands & Photographers

Last night our friend David cooked a nice dinner for us. We brought a bottle of the very excellent 2004 Podere Ruggeri Corsini Armijan Barberya d'Alba Superi for dinner- I know it's a mouthful, but I assure you it's tasty.
We had briefly met the husband & wife team of Podere Ruggeri Corsini at Little Italy's DiPalo wine store earlier in the day. The couple was in from Italy to promote their wine and my husband was tickled to chat with them in Italian.
At David's house I came across the latest issue of The New York Times Magazine.
In it is a captivating portfolio by Magnum's Paolo Pellegrin titled "Great Performers". Right on time for Oscar Season, Rome native Mr. Pellegrin photographed Hollywood's heavyweights: Brad Pittt, Kate Winslet, Sean Penn and Academy Award nominees like Mickey Rourke. These documentary style images are well worth a look and you can see them online (and hear commentary) at: www.nytimes.com/packages/html/magazine/20090205-great-performers/.
