I think I read on a Snapple cap that you can only see rainbows in the afternoon or morning. Not sure if that is so.
Anyway, this afternoon rainbow was magical.

Living in New York is great. You have access to everything.
But sometimes living in 'the center of the universe' has its drawbacks.
Sometimes I get burned out. That is why I travel. Travel reinvigorates me.
But seeing good art can do the same for me.

The other day I received my copy of Makasutu and particularly one of the last images in the book touched me profoundly, it's titled "Ismaila Badji and his horse Jumpex" and you can see it below. Great title too .

Anyway go check out Jason's work if you haven't yet. If you are in New York you can see the work through April 25, 2009 at Messineo Art Projects Wyman Contemporary or you can visit www.floriophoto.com or get your own copy of Makasutu at: www.blurb.com.

Another artist who recently inspired me is Børre Sæthre, that Unicorn thing he had at PS1, was just awesome. Sorry, I am unable to be more articulate about Børre Sæthre's work.
Simen Johan is another one of my favorite artists. Without a doubt I have a Scandinavian obsession.
My home town is Hamburg which is pretty much as north as you get in Germany. Parts of the city used to belong to Denmark and the Scandinavian influence is heavily felt in the city state of Hamburg. Sorry no Lederhosen and Dirndls where I am from.
