Spring Awakening

Espadrilles Made in France @ Madewell © Nina Buesing Corvallo

Seasons are great and I am really enjoying spring. The weather has been magnificent in New York: perfect temperatures, beautiful breezes and amazing skies.
One thing I love so much about sailing is the symbiotic relationship with the weather. In the city we can be very disconnected from nature, but this spring weather carries with it hints of tradewind.

The other day when I passed by Madewell, I could not resist a pair of striped Espadrilles (as my friend Catherine likes to say: "One needs a pair of Espadrilles each summer") and a new nautical shirt by St. James. Both items brought back many fond memories of spring and summers long passed. And made me long for the sea and travel.
Last I checked Pearl River Mall also had a great assortment of well priced Espadrilles - no stripes though.
Also at Madewell: Bensimons in new colors.
I fell in love with a pair of canary yellow ones.
Spring is glorious :)

I bought the blue bensimons back when it was still a bit chilly out. Wish I had gone for the yellows now! Still, they are so comfy.
