Almost midnight and it is still a steamy 90 degrees hot in the city. At the beginning of Rear Window, as the viewer is introduced to the setting of the film, Hitchcock shows people sleeping on their fire escapes. It is that kind of night.
Yes , us New Yorkers like to talk about the weather. Hot, cold, wet, reasonable -- don't matter. We talk about it.
