This poor little desert resident was hot and breathing through his beak. ©Nina Buesing Corvallo
With over 80º Fahrenheit (27º Celsius) this morning in New York City, I am experiencing flashbacks to the desert.
I remember standing in 120º heat by the sand dunes and thinking that it felt like I was standing in front of a giant hairdryer.

Moon over NY, A Mouse in its NYHouse, a NY Park and a stylish NYer. © Nina Buesing Corvallo
Summer is here. Summer is good.
Perhaps because of all the concrete the heat stays even at night in New York. I don't mind it. It is great for late night walks and sitting in the park.

Of course it was especially nice for us at Krug, because we were there with special friends © Nina Buesing Corvallo
While in Hamburg our friends took us to Krug on Paul-Roosen-Strasse in St. Pauli, a bar that also serves amuse-bouche/tapas based on German cuisine. The food was delicious, as was the wine and atmosphere. And it is right next to where The Beatles used to live :)
If you are in Hamburg I recommend it. German cuisine does not have a good reputation, but that is old news. New German cuisine has come a long way and each time I am home I eat better and better. Yum.
